Where Dwell & Oak all started, Jennifer customized a cookie-cutter builder grade home by adding built-in cabinets, an office nook and made the great area functional for an active young family with ample toy storage, and stain-resistant sofas with performance fabrics. This house eventually sold for nearly double it's price within two years due to the upgrades and staging of this home.

A house filled with kids, my clients decided it was time to elevate their living space and hide some of the toys to feel more calm since the kids were growing. With closed cabinet storage, a sectional with performance fabric to host a lot of movie nights and a cozy "sink in" accent chair, this living space is sure to wow any guest while keeping my clients super calm in their space.

Our client wanted a warm and cozy guest room for her friends/family when they came to visit. By creating a dark accent wall with wainscotting,  adding wall sconces for reading,  any guest would feel more than comfortable in this space. By adding layers of linens and pillows, this space feels cozy, elevated with a bit of edge.

Starting from a blank slate, we transformed these two twin boys' rooms into a young boy's paradise! Two similar rooms for twins, one green and one blue, have similar vibes but are slightly differerent. With a hand-painted plaid wall (yes, hand painted!),  added half-wall wainscotting, pendant lighting and woven shade from the Shade Store, we made this space feel warmer and friendlier. With  a stain friendly rug made of 100% wool, it gave this Mom piece of mind and this room surely delighted the young boys to get some good sleep in and time for reading!

We undertook the revitalization of two bathrooms in their home. Our meticulous attention to detail, combined with carefully curated finishes and expertly executed designs, breathed new life into these spaces, imbuing them with a fresh, luminous, and immaculate ambiance.

This vibrant young family sought a functional and aesthetically pleasing entryway, complete with a designated drop station for keys, jackets, shoes, and even dog leashes. The skilled contractor skillfully translated our designs into reality, crafting a stunning entryway featuring a bespoke cushion and thoughtfully arranged baskets for shoes.

Three extraordinary sisters once shared a room, and as the eldest turned 12, she longed for a space of her own to mark her transition into adolescence. My 12-year-old client, with an affinity for all things green and tranquil, dreamed of a room adorned with lush plants. Our goal was to not only create a serene haven but also provide ample storage for her books and a dedicated space for focused study.

Upon returning from their Spring Break adventure, their ecstatic 'OMG' reactions echoed through the halls, leaving an indelible mark on my heart and mind. The joy in their eyes was a testament to the power of thoughtful design in transforming a space into a sanctuary of dreams fulfilled.

This home’s powder bathroom hadn’t been touched since it was built, featuring standard builder-grade finishes that lacked personality. As the most-used space by guests, it was time to bring in wow factor and a sense of mood. We embraced a moody, dramatic palette and paired it with sculptural, high-end plumbing fixtures to make a lasting impression in a small space.
In the entryway, a damaged coat closet was no longer serving the family’s needs; so we transformed it into a custom floating console with built-in drawers for mail, dog leashes, and everyday items. To add visual interest, we chose irregular, asymmetrical light fixtures, creating a layered and artful welcome moment.
These updates prove that even utility-driven spaces like powder rooms and entryways can be both functional and visually striking with the right design approach.

From “we just moved in” to “this finally feels like home.”
After years in their house, our clients—with two young kids and a busy life—were ready to create a space that felt finished, beautiful, and functional, but they didn’t know where to start. That’s where we came in.

We designed a family-friendly space with:
  • Performance fabrics made for real life
  • A custom dining nook for family dinners and art projects
  • Built-ins with hidden storage and a cozy window seat
  • A layered, welcoming formal living room they’re now proud to share

Because family-friendly design isn’t about sacrificing beauty—it’s about designing smarter.

This particular room was the first space you saw upon entering the home so we knew it needed to set the tone. The client wanted a calming, well-styled home office that could also function as a comfortable guest room when needed.

We sourced a high-quality pull-out sofa with a real mattress (no more uncomfortable, creaky sofabeds!) so guests can sleep comfortably and the homeowners can host with confidence. The layout and finishes were designed to feel intentional, serene, and multifunctional, a perfect blend of form and function.

Now, this space seamlessly transitions from a productive work-from-home office to a cozy, welcoming guest retreat—all without sacrificing style.

As a trusted Westchester interior designer, we were brought in to reimagine the kitchen of this secondary residence, which originally felt cramped and inefficient. The previous layout limited both flow and function; so we reworked the space to prioritize form, storage, and hospitality.
By centering the stove along the longest wall, we created a stronger focal point and visually expanded the kitchen’s footprint. We added custom pantry storage and installed two large panel-ready Thermador refrigerators, seamlessly integrated for a clean, tailored look.
Now, this kitchen isn’t just more functional, it’s a true gathering space, ready to host family dinners, holiday celebrations, and weekend getaways for years to come. It’s proof that with smart layout planning and elevated design, even a second home can feel like your first.
